In 2002 the company Maxdesign was established by Massimo Martino in Udine and since then has amazed with consistently new, dynamic and creative ideas. The everlasting searching for new technologies, the close collaboration with famous external designers and a special feeling for colours and shapes are of great importance for Maxdesign.
An evidence for Maxdesigns highly innovative requirement is for example the use of the bi-injection technologie. This extremely complex process allows moulding plastic materials precisely. The product Tototo and the X3-collection are made with this technology.
Because of their playful and emotional approach the Maxdesign products Moving, Dancers, So Happy and Ricciolina are considered as classics of young and modern furniture design.
To be able to fulfil the ever-changing needs of its customers Maxdesign focuses on a continuing development and goes on breaking new ground referring to topics and technologies.
A considerable name in connection with Maxdesign is Hannes Wettstein. Born in 1958 in Ascona he is nowadays among the leading Swiss architects and designers. Beside furniture pieces Hannes Wettstein also created lights, bicycles and watches. In addition he also designed the Swiss embassy in Washington D.C., the news studio of the Swiss television, parts of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin as well as different shops and exhibition rooms.
Hannes Wettstein was awarded several prizes for his works and extended the collections of Maxdesign with the products Tototo, Zed und Kross.
The collection Ricciolina that was created by Marco Maran enjoys great popularity. Ricciolina consists of different chairs and tables with either round or spare tops. The seat shells of the Ricciolina chairs, which are available in 45 different colours, are unexceptionally made of a one-piece unit of polypropylene, which is adjusted to the human body in an ergonomically precious way. The whole Ricciolina collection is characterised by robustness and flexibility.
